SWS says there have been fewer witness reports of irregularities in 2019 polls

(Eagle News)–There have been fewer witness reports of irregularities in the 2019 elections, results of a recent Social Weather Stations survey showed.

According to the Second Quarter 2019 Social Weather Survey conducted from June 22 to 26, compared to June 2016, the proportion of those who personally witnessed vote-buying fell from 19% to 10%.

The SWS said those who read or heard this from reliable sources on the other hand fell from 23% to 15%.

From 4% in 2016, those who personally witnessed harassment of voters fell slightly  to 2%, while those who read or heard about it fell from 9% in 2016 to 4%.

Those who personally witnessed flying voters also fell slightly from 4% in 2016 to 2%.

SWS said those  who read or heard about it fell slightly from 7% in 2016 to 4%.

Those who personally witnessed cheating in the counting of votesfell slightly from 3% in 2016 to 1%  and those who read or heard about it fell from 11% in 2016 to 3%, results of the survey showed.

Those who personally witnessed bribing not to vote fell from 5% in 2016 to 1%, while those who read or heard about it fell from 11% in 2016 to 4%.

Those who personally witnessed violence on election day also fell slightly from 3% in 2016 to 1%.

The SWS said those who read or heard about it fell from 6% in 2016 to 1%.

The survey was conducted using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults nationwide: 300 each in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and  Mindanao.

Sampling error margins are pegged at  ±3% for national percentages, and ±6% each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
