(Eagle News)–Net trust in President Rodrigo Duterte is still very good in the second quarter of 2018, with 70 percent of Filipinos having much trust in him, a Social Weather Stations survey said.
According to results of the survey done from June 27 to 30, only 18 percent were undecided, and 13 percent had little trust in the President, yielding a net trust rating of +57.
The SWS said that this was an 8-point decline from the +65 in March 2018, but the rating was still classified as very good.
According to the SWS, the 8-point decline in the overall net trust rating was because of declines in the ratings in Visayas and Metro Manila, “combined with steady scores in Mindanao and Balance Luzon.”
In the Visayas, the SWS said net trust in Duterte fell by two grades, from excellent to good, down by 21 points from the +70 in March.
In Metro Manila, his net trust was down by 20 points from +62 in March but the rating was still classified as good.
Duterte’s net trust was still excellent in Mindanao, with only one point less than the +89 in June.
The President garnered a +50 in Balance Luzon.
Although this was down by 3 points from the +53 in March, the SWS said this was still very good.
Very good across educational levels
The President also garnered a very good net trust across educational levels.
According to SWS, Duterte has an average net trust rating of +69, classified as very good, so far during his presidency.
In the eight SWS surveys following his inauguration as President, from September 2016 to June 2018, Duterte garnered an excellent net trust rating in five and very good in three.
The survey made use of face-to-face interviews of 1200 respondents nationwide: 300 each in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
