SWS: Net satisfaction ratings “very good” for Senate, SC; “good” for House, Cabinet

(Eagle News) — The Senate and the Supreme Court have netted “very good” satisfaction ratings, while the House of Representatives and the Cabinet “good” ones in a recent Social Weather Stations survey.

According to the first quarter 2019 Social Weather Survey fielded from March 28 to 31, the 72 percent satisfied with the performance of the Senate, and 10 percent dissatisfied with the same translate to a +62 net satisfaction.

The SWS said this was an increase of four points from the +58 the Senate got in December 2018, and the highest since the very good +67 in August 2012.

The SWS said the four-point rise in the overall net satisfaction with the Senate was due to increases of 7 points in Balance Luzon, 6 points in Mindanao, 1 point in the Visayas, and an 8-point decrease in Metro Manila.

Supreme Court

According to the SWS, the survey found that 62 percent were satisfied with the performance of the High Court, while 12 percent were dissatisfied.

This, the pollster said, translates to a new record-high +50, up by 13 points from the +37 in December 2018, and surpassed the previous record of good +44 in June 2016.

The SWS said the 13-point rise was due to increases of 22 points in Mindanao, 16 points in Balance Luzon, and 9 points in the Visayas, coupled with a 5-point decline in Metro Manila.

House of Representatives

Based on the pollster, 61 percent were satisfied with the performance of the House of Representatives and 13 percent were dissatisfied.

The SWS said this translates to a record-high good +47, an increase of 7 points from the +40 in December 2018, and surpassing the previous record of +43 in December 2017.

According to the pollster, the increase in the overall net satisfaction rating of the House was due to increases in all areas.

Cabinet

The SWS said the net satisfaction rating of the Cabinet stayed at good, but was up by 9 points from the +35 recorded in December 2018.

The pollster said the +44 rating was a new record-high, and surpassed the previous record of +38 in December 2017, a good.

“The 9-point increase in the overall net satisfaction rating of the Cabinet was due to increases of 16 points in Balance Luzon, 11 points in Mindanao, and 4 points in the Visayas, combined with a 10-point decrease in Metro Manila,” the SWS said.
