(Eagle News)–Four out of five Filipinos are satisfied with the conduct of the May 2019 elections, a recent Social Weather Stations survey found.
The second quarter 2019 survey conducted from June 22 to 26 found 80% satisfied, 7% undecided, and 12% dissatisfied.
This gives a net satisfaction rating of +68, classified by SWS as very good, 5 points below the record-high excellent +73 in June 2016, the pollster said.
The SWS survey also found that 79% agree, 11% are undecided, and 10% disagree with the statement, “The COMELEC performed its job independently without favoring any candidate or group.”
The pollster said this gives a net agreement score of extremely strong +70, up by 9 points from the extremely strong +61 in June 2013.
Based on the survey, 86% say the May 13, 2019 election results are believable for senators, 88% for House representatives, 84% for governors, and 89% for mayors.
The survey was using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults nationwide: 300 each in Metro Manila, Balance of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Sampling error margins were pegged at ±3% for national percentages, and ±6% each for Metro Manila, Balance of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
