Southwest monsoon affecting western sections of Northern and Central Luzon

(Eagle News) — The southwest monsoon is affecting the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms are possible.

The western section of Luzon, PAGASA said, will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.

PAGASA said so far, Severe Tropical Storm “Ma-On,” formerly “Florita” when inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, is located 905 kilometers west of extreme Northern Luzon.
