(Eagle News)–Senate President Tito Sotto and Senator Sherwin Gatchalian on Tuesday, Aug. 13, proposed the transfer of government offices to the provinces to decongest Edsa.

Sotto and Gatchalian, who authored Senate Bill No. 876 that seeks the transfer of these offices including Malacañang to Clark, reiterated the proposal during the Senate panel on public services’  hearing on the Edsa provincial bus ban on Tuesday, Aug. 13.

“Kung ililipat mo ang Malacañang sa Clark, nililipat mo ang  Congress sa labas, ilipat ang (Department of Environment and Natural Resources) sa Zambales, (Department of Public Works and Highways)  sa Bulacan, ililipat mo ang iba’t ibang departamento sa iba’t ibang probinsiya you will be creating road corridors, you will be decongesting Metro Manila,” Sotto said.

Gatchalian said the transfer has been done in many countries such as in the United States, South Korea and Malaysia. Meanne Corvera
