QUEZON City, Philippines – Congressman Rommel Batucabe proposed the lowering of the required age for senior citizenship from 60 to 56 years old. According to Batucabe, this will also lower the optional retirement age. He added that those who are 56 years old are already experiencing the same ailments as those who are 60 years old and that they should be allowed to avail of early retirement benefits.
