(Eagle News)–The National Capital Region Police Office has a new chief.

Police Brigadier General Debold Sinas on Wednesday, Oct. 16, formally took  the reins of the Metro Manila police force from Police Major General Guillermo Eleazar, who was designated the Philippine National Police’s number four man.

Sinas was the chief of the Central Visayas police before his appointment.

The turnover ceremony was attended by PNP officer in charge Archie Gamboa.

In his speech, Sinas thanked President Rodrigo Duterte for the trust and confidence given to him.

He also thanked Eleazar, his classmate at the Philippine Military Academy, for his programs he said made the NCRPO the best police unit for 2019.

“Rest assured that I will continue all your programs and policies and I will not reinvent the wheel,” he said.

He said the drug war will remain in focus, and the cleansing of ranks within the NCRPO will be “implemented to the fullest.”

He also banned NCRPO personnel from playing golf during weekdays, gambling, entering bars and night clubs unless authorized, among other things.

“In the NCRPO, we will not only set an example. We will walk the talk,” he said.
