QUEZON City, Philippines – Alarmed by the numerous prank calls received by the new emergency hotline 911 and 8888, Senator Dick Gordon proposed a law for SIM card registration to deter such occurrences.
The emergency hotlines received 300 prank calls in the first 7 hours of its operations. Gordon also added that the public should be made responsible for its actions so that the emergency hotlines would be effective.
