Signal No. 2 still hoisted over Catanduanes; More areas under Signal No. 1 as TS “Ramon” maintains strength

(Eagle News)–More areas have been placed under storm signals as Tropical Storm “Ramon” maintained its strength.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Signal No. 2 remains hoisted over Catanduanes, while the eastern portion of Isabela (Divilacan, Palanan, Dinapigue), Northern Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinalungan), Polillo Island, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, and Sorsogon and Eastern Samar and Northern Samar are under Signal No. 1.

Today, light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains will be experienced over Bicol Region, Quezon, and the eastern portions of Isabela and Cagayan, as “Ramon,” last spotted 290 kilometers east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes or 410 km east of Daet, Camarines Norte, move north northwest at 20 kph.

It is packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

PAGASA said  sea travel is risky, especially for small sea craft, over the seaboards of areas under storm signals, the seaboards of Northern Luzon, and the eastern seaboards of Aurora and Quezon due to prevailing or forecast rough sea conditions.
