Senators to go to France to study French federal system

QUEZON City, Philippines – Members of the Philippine Senate accepted the invitation of the Upper House of the Parliament of France, or the French Senate to visit this European country in order to study the French federal system of government. This is in line with President Rodrigo Duterte’s aim to change the system of government of the Philippines.

The Filipino senators will look into the executive – legislative set-up of the French government. Although the Senate already began its hearing on the amendment of the government system, the next hearing is still awaiting the Committee on Constitutional Amendments headed by Senator Franklin Drilon, as it in turn waits for the recommendation of experts.
