Senator Go open to conducting probe into alleged anomalies in PCSO, PhilHealth

(Eagle News)–Senator Bong Go is open to conducting a Senate investigation into the alleged anomalies in the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation.

Go made the comment after President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the termination of all forms of gambling under PCSO’s mandate due to “massive corruption.”

Earlier, Duterte also asked PhilHealth acting Chief Roy Ferrer and its board members to hand over their “courtesy resignation” following  allegations a clinic in Quezon City processed PhilHealth claims of deceased patients.

“Kung ano po ‘yung interes ng tao, interes ng Pilipino, ‘yun po ang mangunguna. Managot ang dapat managot,” he said.

According to Go, enough funds have been allotted or released for the services offered by Malasakit Centers, despite Duterte’s stoppage order.

“Sa ngayon budgeted naman po ‘yung operations ng pagpapagamot for this year,” he said.

He said apart from the PCSO, other agencies were behind the Malasakit Center.

“Marami naman pong tumutulong sa Malasakit Center tulad ng PhilHealth, DOH, at DSWD. Sa ngayon po ay hindi pa po siya apektado. Tuloy-tuloy po ang tulong ng mga Malasakit Center all over the country,” he said.
