Senator JV Ejercito on Monday, July 30, said he was mulling transferring to the Nationalist People’s Coalition, instead of to the ruling party, Partido ng Demokratikong Pilipino-Laban.

“Naisip ko lang lang parang hindi magandang tingnan kung sakaling magtuloy nga kaming magkapatid na sabay na tatakbo tapos isa ang aming partido. So it would not look good,” he said, referring to former Senator Jinggoy Estrada.

Estrada is the son of Manila Mayor and former President Joseph Estrada with Loi Ejercito.

Ejercito, on the other hand, is the son of the Manila mayor with now-San Juan Mayor Guia Gomez.

Ejercito and former Senator Estrada  belong to the Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino being headed by the former President.

According to the senator, he would speak to his father about his plans.

“I just hope he’ll understand the circumstances na hindi talaga magandang tignan na sabay kaming tatakbo tapos iisang partido kaya I am considering transferring at kung meron man akong lilipatan, siyempre pinakakomportable ako sa NPC,” he said.

Apart from Senator Ejercito, Senate President Tito Sotto confirmed former Senator Lito Lapid, a member of former President and now Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s Lakas Kampi, had plans of joining the NPC.
