Sen. Pimentel appeals for help for CDO flooding victims

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III on Tuesday appealed for immediate help for thousands of residents of Cagayan De Oro affected by the flash floods.

“On behalf of Cagayan de Oro, I issue this urgent appeal. The city needs every assistance that our people can give. It needs immediate support for the reconstruction of destroyed houses and other damaged buildings,” Pimentel said.

Although there is a lower number of casualties as many of the residents were able to flee, many lost their homes and livelihoods.

“We need to show the flood victims that they are not alone, and we are ready to stand in solidarity with them in their hour of need,” Pimentel, a native of Cagayan de Oro city, said.

Senator Pimentel is also asking for a review of the flood control and infrastructure program of the province.
