All three senators facing plunder and other graft charges are now not allowed to leave the country. This was after a hold-departure order was issued against Senate minority leader Juan Ponce Enrile by the Sandiganbayan’s 3rd Division.
Aside from Enrile, the anti-graft court also issued a hold departure order against his former chief of staff Gigi Reyes, businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles, and 45 others implicated in the alleged P10-billion pork barrel scam.
The Sandiganbayan Fifth and First Divisions had earlier issued similar orders against Sen. Jinggoy Estrada and Sen. Ramon Bong Revilla Jr., respectively, including their co-accused.
Enrile was the last of the three senators to be made subject of a hold departure order. This effectively prevents him from leaving the country while the case is pending.
Other than Enrile, those included in the hold departure order as Enrile’s co-accused in his plunder case are Reyes, Napoles and two Napoles employees Ronald Lim and John Raymund De Asis.
Also covered by the hold departure order are the following listed as Enrile’s co-accused in the multiple graft cases
