(Eagle News)–Tropical Depression “Samuel” is expected to make landfall over Dinagat-Samar-Leyte on Tuesday night, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

According to PAGASA, as of 7 a.m. today, the center of the Tropical Depression was estimated located 350 kilometers east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.

It is packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 65 kilometers per hour as it moves west northwest at 20 kilometers per hour.

Signal No. 1 has been hoisted over Masbate incl. Ticao Island, Romblon, southern Oriental Mindoro, southern Occidental Mindoro, Northern Palawan incl. Cuyo Island and Calamian Group of Islands, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Bohol, Cebu, Siquijor, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Guimaras, Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan, Antique, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Misamis Oriental, and Camiguin.

PAGASA said moderate to heavy rains are expected over Visayas, Bicol Region and the provinces of Marinduque, Romblon, Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands.

Fisherfolk and those with small seacraft are advised not to venture out over the areas under signal number one and the eastern seaboard of Southern Luzon, PAGASA said.
