Salaries, prices of goods, job creation among topics Filipinos want Duterte to discuss in SONA

(Eagle News)–Filipinos want President Rodrigo Duterte to discuss salaries,  prices of basic goods and the creation of jobs in his State of the Nation Address on Monday, July 22.

A latest Pulse Asia survey said 17.1 percent want to know about how the President can increase salaries, and another 17.1 percent want to know what the government plans to do to address inflation.

Other issues Filipinos want Duterte to discuss in the SONA include the country’s relations with China (9.2%), the fight against illegal drugs (7.8%), ways to improve  the agricultural sector (5.9%), and poverty  eradication (2.5%).

Fighting  corruption (1.6%) is also included in the list of topics Filipinos want included in Duterte’s SONA, as well as infrastructure development (0.5%) and respect for human rights (0.3%).

The survey was conducted from June 24 to 30.

It made us of interviews with  1,200 respondents, and had a ±2.8% error margin at the 95% confidence level.
