(Eagle News) — Salvador Panelo is slated to be the next government spokesperson, with Harry Roque possibly running for a Senate seat in 2019.
Panelo will reportedly hold the position of chief presidential legal counsel at the same time until Duterte finds a replacement for that position.
On Tuesday, Oct. 9, Duterte already said Panelo would be the chief of the Office of the Press Secretary, a post he first offered to Roque.
Roque, who was rumored to run in the midterm elections, however, said he would consider his options, noting at the same time that the position being offered to him does not exist yet.
Roque said this despite Duterte urging him publicly not to run, saying he would not win in the first place because the military does not like him.
On Thursday, Oct. 11, Roque said he has not yet resigned as government spokesperson.
