RTC judges, court personnel stationed at Manila City Hall to undergo quarantine until June 30

(Eagle News)–All regional trial court judges and court personnel stationed in the City Hall of Manila will undergo self-quarantine until June 30.

Executive Judge Virgilio Macaraig said the  quarantine–which started on Thursday, June 18–was made a requirement after two court employees had contact with their close relatives who tested positive for COVID-19.

The executive judge said the decision was made upon consultation with Office of the Court Administrator chief Jose Midas Marquez and Assistant Court Administrator Maria Regina Adoracion Filomena Ignacio.

“All judges and court employees affected are advised to avoid contact with the public and to conduct contact tracing of all persons they may have (had) in contact with at the court premises for the last two weeks,” the executive judge said.

Those who develop symptoms were advised to inform their respective barangay health workers and the executive judge.

Affected courts may conduct hearings through video conferencing away, from home, and accept pleadings, motions filed electronically during the period of self-quarantine pursuant to the circulars of the SC.

All hotlines and emails should be monitored to address urgent inquiries.

The executive judge added one court branch staff member shall supervise the disinfection of the court premises within city hall once scheduled.
