Opposition is “doomed,” Roque adds
(Eagle News) — For Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, the opposition is “really desperate.”
“Naghahanap sila ng isang rallying figure at ang napili po nila ay si Chief Justice,” Roque said, referring to Maria Lourdes Sereno whose appointment as Chief Justice has been nullified by the Supreme Court.
According to Roque, this was a “mistake.”
He said if they believe in all surveys, “hindi po pinagkakatiwalaan si Chief Justice, at napakababa po ng approval rating ni Chief Justice.”
“So kung iyan na po ang magiging rallying figure ng opposition, you’re doomed,” he said.
Earlier, Roque lashed out at Sereno, who has been going around and talking in public about her situation since she went on leave on March 1, for her “grandstanding.”
Noting that she violated the Constitution when she failed to file her complete Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth, he said Sereno should be the only person to blame for the Supreme Court decision that nullified her appointment as Chief Justice.
