Robredo on Gokongwei: He will always be remembered for his contributions to the business community, Filipinos in need

(Eagle News)–Vice President Leni Robredo on Sunday, Nov. 10, condoled with the kin of industrialist John Gokongwei Jr., who passed away at 93 years old the night before.

“Our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr. John Gokongwei Jr.,” Robredo said in a short Tweet.

“We will remember his many contributions not only to the business community, but to helping our fellow Filipinos in need,” she added.

Gokongwei Jr. founded the JG Summit Holdings Inc., one of the country’s biggest  business conglomerates, and Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc.

He was named the third richest man this year, with a net worth of $5.3 billion.
