(Eagle News)–Vice President Leni Robredo has clarified she has no plans to run for president in 2022.
In an interview with reporters in Naga, Robredo said she was, however, “open to all possibilities.”
Robredo issued the remark after a GMA news report quoted her as saying she was “ready” to be president.
In an interview with Bloomberg TV, Robredo said she was “leaving everything open” even as she faced “challenges in the opposition.”
“A lot can still happen, and I’ve always said that the presidency is a destiny,” she said.
President Rodrigo Duterte is slated to step down in 2022.
He has said he no longer had plans to run for President.
His daughter, Sara, is being touted as his successor, but the she has so far remained coy about her political plans.
