Rizal to go on lockdown starting Monday, April 6

(Eagle News)–The province of Rizal will be on lockdown starting Monday, April 6.

According to Executive Order No. 164, series of 2020, signed by Acting Rizal Governor Reynaldo San Juan Jr., the lockdown as a preventive measure against the coronavirus disease 2019 will start at 8 a.m.

Under the lockdown, non-residents except those exempted by the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases will no longer be allowed entry into the province.

Cargo trucks carrying food and other essentials will still be allowed entry, too.

The provincial government urged residents to stay inside their homes as a 24-hour curfew shall be in place, and public transportation is suspended.

Those designated to purchase essentials in each household will, however, be allowed to do the same.

According to the Rizal government, the province has 58 confirmed COVID-19 cases and eight deaths.
