(Eagle News)–Senator Bong Revilla has filed a bill that, if passed, would allow the prior promotion of government employees who have reached the mandatory age of retirement.
Under Senate Bill No. 1019, or “An Act Providing Automatic Promotion of Government Officials and Employees upon Retirement from Government Service,” the Salary Grade Level of the retiree adjusted by one grade higher shall be used as the basis for the computation of his or her retirement benefits.
Revilla said this was to reward the government employees who dedicated their most productive years in public service.
“Kung ang mga pulis ay binibigyan ng one rank higher kapag nagretiro, bakit hindi natin gawin sa lahat ng government employee na bigyan din kaparehong promotion at benefits,” Revilla said.
