Remember 9/11 (The Empty Sky Memorial in Jersey City)

NEW JERSEY, United States — Eagle News revisits the Empty Sky Memorial, the official New Jersey September 11 memorial to the state’s victims of the September 11 attacks, on Saturday (September 10, 2016) a day before the 15th anniversary of the deadly attacks that killed 746 New Jersey residents at the World Trade Center in 1993.

Located in Liberty State Park in Jersey City, it was dedicated for the 746 New Jersey victims whose names are etched in stainless steel in this memorial.

The memorial includes twin walls, transecting a “gently sloped mound anchored by a granite path that is directed toward Ground Zero.”

Two 30-foot-high rectangular towers stretch 208 feet, 10 inches long — the exact width of the World Trade center towers

This memorial was dedicated on September 10, 2011, a day before the 10th anniversary of the attacks.
