Rains to prevail in parts of PHL as southwest monsoon affects Luzon

(Eagle News)–Rains are expected in parts of the country today, July 19, as the southwest monsoon affects Luzon.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Zambales, and Bataan will experience the monsoon rains.

Flash floods or landslides due to light to moderate to at times heavy rains are expected.

Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and the rest of Central Luzon and Cagayan Valley on the other hand will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms while the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized  thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds will be experienced in Luzon, while Visayas and Mindanao will have slight to moderate winds.
