(Eagle News)–Rains are expected in parts of the country today, Aug. 5, as Tropical Storm “Hanna” moves north northwest and the southwest monsoon continues to affect Luzon and Visayas.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said as of 3:00 a.m., the center of the tropical storm was located 940 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
It is packing maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h and gustiness of up to 90 km/h, and moving north northwest at 15 km/h.
Cavite, Batangas and MIMAROPA will have monsoon rains, and flash floods or landslides due to moderate with at times heavy rainshowers are possible.
Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cenral Luzon, Bicol Region, Western Visayas and the rest of CALABARZON, on the other hand, will have
cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due the to the southwest monsoon.
Cagayan Valley will also have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, this time though due to the
trough of the tropical storm, the weather bureau said.
PAGASA said Mindanao and the rest of Visayas, on the other hand, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.
