Rains expected in parts of PHL today, July 16

(Eagle News)–Rains are expected in parts of the country on Tuesday, July 16, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

According to PAGASA, Batanes, Cagayan and Northern Isabela will experience  rains and gusts of winds, with a Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 hoisted over those areas due to Tropical Depression Falcon.

Falcon, PAGASA said, is located 690 kilometers east of Tuguegarao, Cagayan as of 4 a.m., packing maximum sustained winds of 55 to 65 kilometers per hour.

PAGASA said it was moving westward at 30 kilometers per hour.

Light to moderate and occasionally heavy rains are also expected in Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate and Mimaropa due to the southwest monsoon, the weather bureau said.

It said Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, on the other hand, will have scattered rains and cloudy skies.
