QC mayoral bet Crisologo and son, several others nabbed over alleged vote-buying incident

(Eagle News)–Quezon City mayoralty bet Vicente “Bingbong” Crisologo was arrested on Sunday night for being implicated in an  alleged vote-buying incident.

The police said also arrested were his son, Edrix, and several other individuals in Barangay Bahay Toro.

” Ang report sa akin ng pulis ay dumating si Crisologo, minura ang lahat ng pulis at tinakot na kakasuhan,”  Quezon City Police District chief Police Brigadier General Joselito Esquivel Jr. said in a report over radio dzbb.

In a Facebook Live post, Crisologo denied the allegations.

“Ang nangyari meron tayong training ng mga watchers. Binibigay ‘yung mga paraphernalia para sa watchers. Pinasok ng mga pulis sa loob ng bahay nang walang search warrant,” he said.

He added policemen did not read them their Miranda rights, and were not wearing their uniforms, were wearing slippers, and had guns.

“‘Tiningnan namin, Pagdating namin, nakita namin, sinabihan namin ‘yung pulis na bakit sila nag-tresspass?” he added.

The Crisologos are facing charges for obstruction of justice, unjust vexation, and, together with their arrested supporters, charges for violation of the Omnibus Election Code, among others.
