(Eagle News) –The common station in Quezon City that will interconnect four railway services is expected to be operational by 2021.

This is according to the Department of Transportation, which announced on Tuesday, Dec. 17, that Area B of the Common Station in North Edsa was already 96 percent complete.

The government had started construction of the 13,700-square-meter concourse area that is expected to interconnect the Light Rail Transit-1, Metro Rail Transit-3, Metro Rail Transit-7 and the Metro Manila Subway after  the project was delayed for almost nine years due to a dispute on the actual location.

On Tuesday, Transportation Secretary Art Tugade paid the area a visit.

The DOTr said the common station was now undergoing construction 24/7.

It is expected to serve 478,000 passengers daily once it becomes operational.
