(Eagle News) — Marc Ventura is still considered a respondent in the hazing death of Horacio Castillo III.

This is according to Prosecutor General Jorge Catalan, who spoke during the resumption of the Senate hearing on the death of the University of Sto. Tomas student on Monday.

“His case would still be evaluated and analyzed until completely admitted as (state witness),” Catalan said when asked on the update of the case.

According to Catalan, all statements Ventura gave in his sworn statement were therefore, “very confidential.”

“We might have complications. He applied and was provisionally admitted (to the Witness Protection Program),” Catalan said.

Because of Catalan’s pronouncement, the senators agreed to not cite Ventura’s affidavit line by line during the hearing.
