(Eagle News)–The two suspects in the killing of radio broadcaster Dindo Generoso who have been arrested are under the employ of a “powerful politician” in Negros Oriental based on reports, the Presidential Task Force on Media Security said.
The PToFMS made the statement as its chair, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar on Friday, Nov. 8, lauded the police for the “swift and successful operations” that led to the arrest of Glenn Corsame and Teddy Reyes Salaw.
Police said PCPL Roger Rubio of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company remains at large.
“The arrest of the suspects is just the beginning of our quest to bring justice for Generoso and his family,” Andanar said.
According to Andanar, the arrest “also shows the relentless determination of President Duterte and the PTFoMS, as well as the entire administration in addressing the threats to our media professionals and to solving all forms of violence against media, especially killings.”
Charges are being filed against the suspects.
Generoso, a radio broadcaster for dyEM 96.7 Bai Radio, was on his way to work when men on board a motorcycle fired at his vehicle on Thursday, Nov. 7.
He died on the spot due to multiple bullet wounds, with police recovering seven spent .45 caliber shells at the crime scene.
