Duterte also visits wounded soldiers
(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday, Nov. 15, visited the wake of the at least six soldiers killed in a clash with New People’s Army rebels in Eastern Samar.
The President, accompanied by Senator Bong Go, also visited those injured in the encounter in the outskirts of Borongan on Monday, Nov. 20.
The at least six soldiers were killed and at least 20 were injured after they clashed with around 50 rebels.
Prior to the clash, the soldiers responded to a tip rebels were harassing locals, and were met with improvised blasts.
An undetermined amount of rebels was also wounded.
