(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte is slated to visit China this August.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the dates, however, have not yet been finalized.
He said the President would meet Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Senator Bong Go said the chief executive might also watch the Gilas Pilipinas play in the 2019 Fiba Basketball World Cup in China.
This is scheduled from August 31 to September 15.
This would have been Duterte’s fifth visit to China.
Earlier, the Philippines filed diplomatic protests against China over Chinese vessels swarming around Pagasa Island, and after a Chinese vessel rammed against a Philippine fishing boat and left its crew at sea.
