President Duterte to Inquirer and ABSCBN: You are “a bunch of (trash)”

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday again lashed out at Inquirer and ABSCBN, saying they were corrupt media organizations that were “a bunch of” trash.

Kaya sinasabi ko dyan, sa Inquirer, wag kayo magbasa dyan. Basura yan….Just like ABSCBN. They’re all a bunch of (trash),” Duterte said, using a more forceful expletive to describe the media organizations during the inauguration of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority’s crisis center in Guadalupe, Makati.

His statement drew applause from several members of the audience.

He explained that during the elections, both media organizations reported he had P211 million in his bank accounts.

He said he was “trying to explain to them but you know, Inquirer and ABSCBN just kept on throwing the garbage.”

Pera pera because I could not, I did not have the money to pay them. My political party was just (based) in Mindanao,” he said.

Yan si Prieto? The owner? Kita mo mukhang pera,” he said, referring to the owner of Inquirer.

He reiterated that he would resign “if (he has) even half of what they say.”

He added he would do the same if any of his children get involved “even in graft.”

Masiguro ninyo iyan,” he said.
