President Duterte to announce names of “ninja cops” soon — Go

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte will reveal the names of policemen allegedly involved in the recycling of illegal drugs, or the so-called ninja cops.

This is according to Senator Bong Go, who spoke to reporters on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

“Sabi niya kahapon sa akin kailangang malaman ng publiko yan soon,” Go, who was present in a recent executive session in the Senate where  former Criminal Investigation and Detection Group chief Benjamin Magalong revealed the names, said.

Magalong had said involved in the practice which Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency chief Aaron Aquino had described as rampant were former and current high-ranking police officials.

According to Go, “icoconsolidate po muna namin yung mga listahan, reports po mula sa iba’t ibang ahensiya ng PDEA.”

He said the information was also being “cross-validated” by Duterte.

“Importante si pangulo magsasabi..karapatan ng mga Pilipino malaman,” Go said.

Albayalde integrity

For his part, Senator Bato dela Rosa vouched for the integrity of Philippine National Police Chief Oscar Albayalde, his  batch mate at the Philippine Military Academy’s Sinagtala Class of 1996,  following information he was relieved  as Pampanga police provincial director after some of his men were linked to illegal drug activities.

According to Dela Rosa, in the first place, Albayalde was relieved only for command responsibility.

“..Dahil nga may intel operatives siyang involved sa problema ng shabu. Yun lang ang alam ko kaya siya natanggal noon. But since then, wala naman akong narinig na ibang info about sa kaniya,” he said.

He noted Albayalde’s performance as National Capital Region Police Office chief, a post Dela Rosa said he gave him not because he was his mistah but because “I have high regard sa kaniya.”

“I am betting my neck sa tao na yan. Isusugal ko ang aking pagkatao dyan sa kaniya,” Dela Rosa said. Meanne Corvera
