President Duterte reveals plans to impose moratorium on GOCC officials’ allowance increases

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday revealed what could be plans to impose a moratorium on allowance increases of officials in government-owned and controlled corporations.

Mga government corporations, kasi mga allowances nila. I’ll leave it that way, but next time I have to impose a moratorium sa increases. Masyado malaki,” he said in a speech in celebration of the day for women in Malacanang.

“I will control whatever increases they enjoy in the future,” he said.

Duterte also reminded government officials to do their jobs properly.

He said “indolence,” after all, was a “form of graft.”

“Because you are paid and you’re not doing anything about the job,” he said.

He said that Cabinet secretaries were given only one month to release papers on their tables.

Directors, on the other hand, he said, were “forewarned that you have only 15 days.”

Lahat ng papeles na dumaan sa inyo, you have 15 days. (Bureau of Internal Revenu), Customs, whatever. Ilabas ninyo yan agad,” he said.
