(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte has dismissed the anti-corruption commissioner who said Vice President Leni Robredo should be probed for “competing” with the government in the provision of aid amid the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.
“Fire him,” the President said of PACC commissioner Manuelito Luna, who had asked the National Bureau of Investigation to probe Robredo.
“Tama yan maghingi ka ng tulong sa kapwa mo tao,” Duterte said, praising Robredo’s efforts instead.
The PACC had distanced itself from Luna’s comments, saying it was Luna’s opinion, not the commission’s.
Robredo has also since dismissed Luna’s comments.
