President Duterte honors soldiers killed, injured in clashes with NPA in Samar

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday, June 19, honored those who were killed and were injured in separate clashes with the New People’s Army in Samar.

The President awarded the Order of Lapu-Lapu to the dependents of Corporal Robert Bueno, Corporal Alix Saliwan, Private First Class Arthur Garcia, Private First Class Danilo Constantino Jr., and Private Elben Lagrimas in Camp General Vicente Lukban in Catbalogan.

Also conferred the Order of Lapu-Lapu Rank of Kampilan were Corporal  Eduardo Vigilia Jr., Corporal Mark Lester Amparo, Private First Class Mark Kevin Frigillana, Private First Class Joseph Salonga, Private First Class Mark Louie Lantecsi, Private First Class Joemar Glenn Seligbon, Private Delio Amaro, Private Joseph Renel Gentalian, and Private Rex Español.

“With such valiant troops in the service of flag and country, I am confident that we can end the communist-terrorist scourge here in Region 8 sooner rather than later,” Duterte said.
