(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday night condoled with the kin of those who died in the Lionair plane that crashed as it was on its way to Japan for a medical evacuation.
“My condolences to the families and I assure you na tutulong kami sa anumang paraan. Do not be discouraged,” the President said.
Eight people were killed after the plane bound for Haneda crashed and caught fire at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Sunday.
Authorities said the plane encountered technical problems prior to takeoff.
The government has grounded all Lionair fleet as a result.
