President Aquino appoints Caguioa as Secretary of Justice

MANILA, Oct. 15 (PIA) — President Benigno S. Aquino III has appointed on Monday Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa, Chief Presidential Legal Counsel since 2013, as ad interim Secretary of the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Caguioa will be occupying the position previously held by Leila de Lima, who resigned to seek a senate seat.

Secretary Caguioa earned a degree in Economics (Honors Program) from the College of Arts and Sciences of Ateneo de Manila University in 1981, and graduated with honors from the Ateneo Law School in 1985, ranking fifth in his class. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1986 after placing fifteenth in the 1985 Bar examinations. (PCOO)
