Political analyst:  Aquino gets low grade for leadership

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Political analyst, Popoy De Vera said that President Benigno S. Aquino III just got a low grade for leadership as his term ends on Thursday.

That’s because President Aquino was not able to meet his promise of uplifting the lives of Filipinos during his term

In an interview in Liwanagin Natin, De Vera explained that the corruption “perception” index is important because corruption is an illegal activity that is hidden, will not be admitted, and very difficult to measure.

He said while the PDAF and DAP investigations were launched, no public officials were prosecuted.

But while these activities offer “non-perception” data, they are often the product of the efficiency of the judicial system, freedom of the press, or activism of civil society organizations and do not picture the full extent of corruption in a country.

De Vera said that the cabinet officials appointed to their seats were not able to alleviate Filipino hardship — instead they became a burden to the Filipino people.

He also said that jobs cannot be artificially created.

De Vera said and here we quote:

“You need inclusive growth — growth that bounds to benefit the majority and that wasn’t achieved by the current administration.”
