(Eagle News)–The policeman who was among those behind two controversial raids in Antipolo and Pampanga has been dismissed.
Philippine National Police officer-in-charge Police Lieutenant General Archie Gamboa said he gave the order for the dismissal of Police Lieutenant Joven de Guzman.
De Guzman was among the 13 behind a 2013 drug raid in Mexico, Pampanga which the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group ruled had been marred with irregularities.
The CIDG said the policemen led by Rodney Baloyo switched the suspects and possibly sold some of the illegal drugs they had gotten from the raid.
De Guzman was also among the six policemen behind an irregular Antipolo raid in May.
Gamboa’s predecessor, Oscar Albayalde, resigned following allegations he intervened in the cases filed against Baloyo’s group over the Pampanga raid.
