PNP now on full alert

(Eagle News) — The Philippine National Police is now on full alert in anticipation of the increased volume of people going to the provinces in the following days.

Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa, PNP chief, said the leaves of PNP personnel were also cancelled to ensure a 100 percent deployment.

The PNP has said more than 35,000 personnel will be deployed in time for the holidays.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has already announced the suspension of the number-coding scheme for all motorists on Nov. 1.

Only provincial buses, the MMDA said, were covered by the number-coding scheme on Oct. 31 and Nov. 4.

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport has said it would open Malasakit help desks for passengers who may take the opportunity to take domestic or international flights.
