PNP Chief reveals NPA plan to launch attacks in Davao before SONA

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa

Philippine National Police chief Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa revealed that they have monitored plans from the National People’s Army to launch attacks in Davao two weeks before the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte.

“We monitored something from the left. The NPA, they will make some pre-SONA attacks, harassment. We uncovered that it will be in Davao. They will disrupt Davao before SONA so we are preparing for that,” Dela Rosa said in a statement.

Dela Rosa said that they have not monitored any threat in Metro Manila but that the police force will not be complacent.

“As for the moment, we have not received anything specific, we have not monitored any terror attacks,” de la Rosa noted.

He said security is still beefed up for the upcoming second SONA of the President.

Dela Rosa asked the public to cooperate for the safety of the community.

“Sana naman magcooperate ang public na we are facing some degree of threats, so mag-adjust sana ang public na magtulungan tayo para mabantayan natin ang katahimikan ng paligid,” Dela Rosa said.  (Eagle News Service)
