PNP chief Gamboa orders intensified drive vs prostitution

(Eagle News)–Philippine National Police Chief Archie Gamboa has ordered an intensified drive against prostitution.

PNP spokesperson Bernard Banac issued the statement after the Palace said it would probe reports of a prostitution ring being patronized mostly by workers of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations.

He said the PNP’s Women and Children Protection Center should be in coordination with regional and local police units.

Banac said last year, the WCPC conducted raids in sex dens related to POGOs, resulting in the rescue of 140 foreign victims.

Fifty five people were also arrested.

On Tuesday, Jan. 28, a Senate panel launched a probe into the reports with Senator Risa Hontiveros baring what she said were group chats where the women were being sold.
