PNB confirms one of its employees tested positive for COVID-19

(Eagle News)–The Philippine National Bank on Tuesday, March 24, confirmed one of its employees  tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019.

“The Philippine National Bank confirms that one of our employees at the PNB Financial Center in Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City had a confirmation yesterday, March 23, 2020, as positive for COVID-19,” the bank said in an advisory.

According to PNB, the employee has been under voluntary quarantine since March 11.

The employee is currently not showing any symptoms.

“The Bank is providing support to the employee and the family,” it said, noting that it “takes this matter seriously.”

It said it has done “a top-to-bottom disinfection of the PNB head office and we are constantly disinfecting our branches and offices nationwide.”

“Identified primary contacts were asked to go into self-quarantine. They are being closely monitored, provided guidance and assistance. There have been no further reports of any COVID-19 infections from this exposure,” it added, noting that it has been working with the Department of Health and Pasay authorities.

It said its its preparations “for this pandemic take into consideration the needs of our employees, customers, and various stakeholders.”

“We encourage everyone to always maintain social distancing and to practice proper hygiene both in their homes and places of work,” it said.

“We are closely monitoring the developments of the evolving pandemic. We will continue to cooperate with the authorities as we fight this ongoing battle,” it added.
