Pimentel: PDP-Laban members on narco-list may face expulsion from party

(Eagle News)–Members of the ruling PDP-Laban party who were included in the narco-list may face expulsion.

This is according to PDP-Laban president Senator Koko Pimentel, who issued a statement to this effect a day after President Rodrigo Duterte, PDP Laban chair, bared 46 names he said were engaged in drug-related activities.

Pimentel said the expulsion would be meted out if their explanation was found “unsatisfactory.”

“The party has no place for narco-politicians as well as for corrupt officials. We do not want them in our party,” Pimentel said.

Duterte had said the 46 names had been “validated” and administrative cases had already been filed against them.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government said other cases would be filed against the 46 “in other venues.”
