(Eagle News)–Philippine Information Authority Chief Harold Clavite has resigned.

Clavite made the announcement himself in a post on Facebook on Friday night.

“It’s official. I’ve separated from  (PIA) effective today,” he said.

He said he was now looking forward to a “less stressful private life now.”

“I have contributed a lot and have completed my purpose of giving up my career and life in the United States to serve my home country, the #Philippines. I will be back to my family and take care of my own now,” he said, as he thanked all who “have been part of my journey,” and gave appreciation for  “all the support given by our partners in government, the private sector, and the general public.”

Clavite had been under investigation by the Presidential Communications Operations Office for alleged corruption.

Clavite denied the allegations, saying it was part of a demolition job against him due to the “reforms I have established in the agency.”
