(Eagle News)–The country’s underemployment rate in July has gone down to 13.9 percent.
Based on data provided by the Philippine Statistics Authority on Thursday, Sept. 5, the rate is 3.3 percent less than the rate recorded on the same month last year.
According to the PSA, employment rate was at 94.6 percent, the same rate recorded in July last year.
The PSA said workers in the services sector comprised the largest proportion of the employed population, at 57.8 percent.
Workers in the agriculture sector comprised the second largest group, with 23.5 percent, while workers in the industry sector made up the smallest group, with 18.7 percent.
The PSA said the regions with the lowest employment rates were Region IV-A (92.8%),National Capital Region (93.9%),Region VII, (94.0%), and Region VI (94.1%).
